December 2013

On the evening of 22 December church members and friends went carol singing around the local streets to raise money for Action for Children.

Our Junior Church Nativity was held on Sunday 22 December and was as entertaining and thought-provoking as ever. It included music from the Angry Hotel Man and an item about the Toybox charity that seeks to help the street children of Latin America.

The Winter 2013 edition of the Triangle magazine is available form the Resources page.

December 2011

image of jolly Santa ClausHappy Christmas to all. Our Christmas fair on 3 December was a great success with all the usual stalls and Santa's Grotto. On Christmas Eve the church was bursting at the seams for the Candlelight Carol Service. As has become traditional, there was an orchestra as well as organ to support the fantastic singing. At the end (as mentioned on Classic FM!) we were treated to a rendition of Handel's The Hallelujah Chorus arranged for the orchestra and organ.

On 22 December a group from the church went carol singing in aid of Action for Children in the streets around the church—over £100 was raised and everyone had a great time.

At a special meeting held at Springdale Methodist Church & Community Centre on the 10th August 2011 the trustees of the Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji Sikh temple in Wolverhampton presented a cheque for £5000 for the development of the Atrium.

On receiving the cheque from Paul Uppal MP, who is a trustee for the temple, Revd Donald H Ryan—the Project Overseer—said, "We are extremely grateful for the generous gift from our Sikh friends for the community centre. With so many negative things in our society it is good  to see multi-faith in action and for one group to support the community work of another. Many people of different faiths, and none, use the community facilities at Springdale and they are all very welcome."

Paul Uppal MP responded "What has impressed me most was the community pulling together, people from different faiths working together for a common goal. The money donated today will go a long way to completing the community centre, which I hope will be enjoyed by all members of the community ."

June 2011

Sunday 12 June was a cafe style service with songs, music, stories, magic and refreshments. As it was Pentecost we celebrated the birthday of the Church. A really enjoyable, different take on worship.

This will be ideal for preachers, worship leaders, children's workers and others involved in planning all-age worship. More details on the flyer. If you are interested please download and return the booking form.
