Poetry Group

Our Poetry Group meets each fortnight on a Wednesday morning 10.45 till noon. New members are welcome. Each session a subject is chosen and picture of a book with pages being flippedeveryone gets to read out loud their own personal choice. Depending on the amount of chatter and discussion, each person usually manages two (or three) selected poems which uplift, entertain, educate and make us laugh and think. It's an ecumenical group, and some members “have a go”, writing their own verse, but most just like reading poetry. We’ve given several poetry readings within the Penn area, and any donations we’ve received have been given to our Springdale Wives’ Charity, or Springdale Church. We meet in the atrium.

Penn Puppets

Penn Puppets is an ecumenical team of people of all ages with a passion for using puppets as tools for mission. We take the Christian message of God’s love for all into local primary and special schools. We also enjoy using our puppets to tell stories or sing songs during worship.

Picture of the Springdale Art Class in full swingSpringdale Art Class began in 2006, when local artist Les Hinton was asked if he would like to begin a class for members of the Church and their friends. Since then 20 or so folk have met every Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm. We have a tutor, Sue, who taught art in a secondary school. The atmosphere is friendly, caring and informal. Everyone is given encouragement and new friendships have been made. Entry to the class is £2. Please do come and join us. Contact Lesley Cook via the Church Office 01902 338420.
